Join Liberty Ball and the Philadelphia Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association for the 19th Annual Liberty Ball, A Knight for the Kids, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 7pm to 12am at the Crystal Tea Room!

This annual "blue-tie" optional event fundraises to support the efforts of Penn State THON for its sole beneficiary, Four Diamonds at the Hershey Medical Center.

The evening will consist of auctions, raffles, stories from Four Diamonds families, dinner, and dancing to our favorite band, Second Vision.

Since its inception in 2005, the Liberty Ball has raised over $450,000 for THON to help conquer childhood cancer.

2024 Liberty Ball Four Diamonds Family: The Branson Hoglund Family

We are the Hoglunds, Dave, Andrea, Branson. In May, 2022, Branson was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. He began chemotherapy immediately and continued until October, 2022. In October, he underwent a long and intensive surgery to remove the tumor and affected bone and tissue. After a brief recovery, he returned to chemotherapy. He underwent treatment until June, 2023. In August, 2023, he was allowed to be 50% weight bearing on his leg. He is currently a freshman in high school where he has returned to attending in person. We are very hopeful that he will remain in remission and will soon be able to fully walk again. Dave and Andrea are both Penn State alumni. We are forever grateful to THON, Four Diamonds, and everyone at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital for all they have done to help Branson and our family, WE ARE...

Kayla Nakonechni Knight Award Recipient: Wit You Against Childhood

Wit You Against Childhood Cancer provides opportunities for the Philadelphia community to show support and love to families among us who are battling childhood cancer -- and to give those families hope, financial and nutritional support to help them beat cancer. Wit You was founded in 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic that had everyone thinking about their family, friends, neighbors -- their community. We were inspired by the desire to do more when founding members Lou and Dana's son began his battle with Neuroblastoma in 2018. Today, he's in remission thanks to incredible care and treatment, and also the community of friends, family, nonprofits, medical professionals, and others that inspire kids battling cancer and their families to keep fighting.
